Auto Consumption Becomes Chinese Consumption Hotspot of 2009

On December 28th, 2009, Chinese Ministry of Commerce published the article “Auto Consumption Becomes Chinese Consumption Hotspot of 2009”. The article summarizes the four major characteristics of Chinese auto market as follows: 1. The auto consumption shows an optimistic situation. China Motorcycles manufacturer  The auto industry recovers prominently. 2. Low-emission autos increase rapidly with prominent market share growth. 3. Rural auto consumption is enlarged. The structure adjustment sees preliminary effect. 4. Second-hand vehicle trading rises stably with great development potential.

The report believes that Chinese auto consumption market can remain the optimistic development trend in 2010. The reasons are follows: 1. There is great potential in Chinese domestic auto consumption. 2. Various favorable policies will continue to be implemented: the “auto going to the countryside” policy will be extended to the end of 2010. The “motorcycle going to the countryside” policy subsumed in the “auto going to the countryside” subsidy channel will be extended to January 31st, 2013. The purchase tax reduction policy for passenger cars (?1.6 liters emission) will be prolonged China Motorcycles manufacturer  to the end of 2010 with the tax rate of 7.5%. The old for new policy of autos will continue to be implemented; the subsidy amount standard for a single vehicle is increased to RMB 5,000 to RMB 18,000. 3. Expanding the domestic demand, especially residents’ consumption is the major task of Chinese government in the economic work of 2010. The auto consumption should continue to play the vital role as it is a major part in the domestic demand expansion.

In the previous 11 months of 2009, the sales volume of Chinese passenger cars (?1.6 liters emission) was 6.43 million, rising by 67.7% YOY. The volume took up 70% of the total sales volume of passenger cars and over 50% of the total sales volume of autos, both proportions increasing by nearly 8% YOY. The market share of low-emission passenger cars is increasing rapidly, indicating more rational consumption of Chinese residents. This will help to realize the energy saving, emission reduction and sustained development of the auto consumption market.

In the previous 11 months of 2009, the total subsidized volume of autos and China Motorcycles for the countryside by Chinese government reached 4.19 million with the cashed funds of RMB 6.1 billion. Among that, the subsidized volumes of autos and China Motorcycles manufacturer were 1.17 million and 3.02 million separately. The autos and China Motorcycles going to the countryside policy plays a positive role in stimulating the rural consumption, improving the rural auto consumption structure, promoting the upgrading of rural transportation means, improving the living standard of rural residents and accelerating the building of a new socialist countryside. According to statistics, the sales volume of the main auto type in the auto going to the countryside policy — crossover passenger cars (mainly minibuses) exceeded 1.6 million in the previous 11 months of 2009. It is predicted that the sales volume of various autos will exceed 2 million in Chinese countryside, rising by over 80% YOY in 2009.

In 2009, Chinese new vehicle consumption market rose continuously with a high speed, vitalizing the second-hand vehicle market. From January to October of 2009, the trading volume of Chinese second-hand vehicle was near 3 million, rising by 28% YOY. The trading volume is estimated to reach 3.6 million in the whole year of 2009.

In 2009, Chinese domestic brand cars grew gradually. In 2010, the sales volume of Chinese domestic brand cars is expected to rise continuously. Chinese domestic brand cars displayed the development potential in 2009. 1. In the previous 11 months of 2009, the sales volume of BYD F3 cars was 255,000, ranking the first. China Motorcycles manufacturer  The domestic-brand car — Chery QQ (sales volume: 152,000, ranking the eighth) was also among the Top 10 in Chinese car sales volume in the previous 11 months of 2009. 2. In 2009, the monthly sales volumes of domestic-brand auto models such as Roewe 550 of SAIC Motor, Alsvin of ChangAn Automobile and Tojoy of JAC Motors exceeded 5,000. If Chinese car market continues the prosperous development, the domestic-brand auto sales volumes of all the above companies will surpass 150,000. Chinese domestic-brand car enterprises will realize breakeven in 2010.

Chinese Motorcycle Powerhouse Jincheng Eyes Mission Motors for Strategic Partnership

Jincheng Power Machinery Co. announced today that it has signed a memo of cooperation with Mission Motors, which could see the Chinese company link up with the San Francisco firm to develop electric drive systems for the emerging market and in other markets throughout the world.

In the memo, Jincheng outlines its intent to become a major shareholder in Mission Motors, and to also inject capital into the small startup after it presents a three year plan to the Chinese company. For Mission Motors the move would be valuable strategic partnership to gain a foothold in China, which already has a booming two-wheeled market and need for reduced CO2 emissions.

“Mission Motors has identified Jincheng Power as a potential partner in the Chinese electric motorcycle market,” says Mission Motors’ Jit Bhattacharya. ”China is an enormous market for electric two-wheelers with a number of Chinese cities having banned gasoline-powered china motorcycles and scooters. We are exploring how we can leverage Mission Motors’ technology with Jincheng’s strengths in high volume, low-cost manufacturing to create a lower cost electric powertrain for the Chinese market. As part of this ongoing discussion, Jincheng Power is also considering a strategic investment in Mission Motors, but nothing has been finalized.”

It is our understanding that this is a custom in Chinese business culture where companies sign a document which explains that they are considering a business transaction. While nothing is final yet, and we should be point out that other reports appear to over-state the current situation, suggesting that Jincheng has already acquired a majority interest in Mission Motors, while in fact Jincheng merely hopes to complete an investment in the San Franciscan company by the end of June this year.

Jincheng is one of China’s largest motorcycle engine manufacturers, and marks yet another series of moves by American electric motorcycle companies looking not only for funding, but also looking abroad for business opportunities. Just last month we reported that Zero china Motorcycles closed a $5.5 million round of investment, and Brammo also recently announced a partnership with Jackie Chan’s JCAM to distribute bikes in Asia.

Choosing the Right Motorcycle Leathers: A Buyers Guide to Leather Motorcycle Apparel

When pondering the purchase of China Motorcycles leathers, there are several issues that one must consider. While one would think that style would be first and foremost, in actuality, it is the protection that a good set of motorcycle leathers affords the skin that is of the utmost priority for any serious biker. Leather has over the years been proven to be the best material for China Motorcycles clothing, due to its resistance to tear, its natural warmth, and its acting as a first layer of defense by coming between the biker and the rough asphalt road. Leather has often literally saved the skin of many bikers.

However, all leather is not the same. In this article, I will attempt to address the choices that a biker faces when purchasing China Motorcycles leathers. We will explore the different types of hides available, the different tanning processes, and how to tell the differences.

There are basically three hides that you will run across when looking for China Motorcycles leathers: pigskin, buffalo, and cowhide. You may at times find such hides as lamb skin, sheepskin etc. Just make a note that these hides are inferior and should not be considered riding grade leather.

Pigskin

Sometimes called soft Leather, pigskin is very thick and soft to the touch. It will keep you warm in the winter and looks very nice. There is nothing wrong with soft leather (pigskin or lambs skin) except that it has a tendency to tear, is not very durable, and is not considered riding grade leather. If you are looking for the biker look but do not ride, pigskin is the way to go! Also, for garments that are not necessarily worn for protection, (such as leather vests) pigskin and lambs skin are excellent choices due to their suppleness and pliability. There are many fine styles available in soft leather and it is the least expensive leather out there. If you ride, stay away from pigskin for protection; spend the extra money to protect yourself with some true riding grade China Motorcycles leathers.

Buffalo Hide

Another high quality leather, buffalo hide is not from the North American buffalo, but the water buffalo, a native of India and Pakistan. Many leather products come from this part of the world, and the Pakistanis are world renown for their expertise in the manufacturing of leather garments. Buffalo hide is also very thick (ca 1.2mm) and can be tanned in both top grain and naked leather processes. Durable and not easily torn, buffalo hide, though not as common as cowhide, is considered to be riding grade leather.

Cowhide

The most common material used for China Motorcycles leathers is cowhide, chosen for its strength and durability. It is anywhere from 1-1.3mm thick, depending on the tanning process, is naturally warm, and will afford the utmost protection against road rash. The ultimate in riding grade leather, cowhide is the choice of bikers everywhere.

Whichever type of hide you choose, you need to also understand the tanning process, and how it adds or detracts from the quality of the leather. Leather was once the skin of an animal, and therefore must go through a tanning process to strengthen it, and to keep it from decomposing. Tanning makes the skin stable and rot proof without sacrificing its structure and strength. The tanning process involves several stages, including the removal of the hair and the outer layer of skin, as well as the fatty part of the flesh. The hide is then stabilized by one of several methods using animal oils, alum, chrome salts or vegetable tanning. How it is actually finished determines the quality, or riding grade, for our purposes.

To fully understand choices available, one must first understand the term grain. The grain is the epidermis, or outer layer of the animals skin. While imperfections such as cuts, scars, and scratches will exist, the grain in its natural state has the best fiber strength, and therefore the best durability. The grain also has natural breathability, resulting in greater comfort to the wearer.

Finished Split Leather

The middle or lower section of a hide that has been split into two or more thicknesses. A polymer coating is applied and embossed to mimic grain leather. Finished splits should only be used in low stress applications because they basically have no grain. If the polymer coating is left out it is often used to make suede. Not considered to be riding grade, but can look good nevertheless.

Top Grain Leather

Top grain leather has been sanded to remove scars and imperfections, then sprayed or pasted for a uniform look. The smooth side is where the hair and the natural grain used to be. Top grain is probably the most common material found in China Motorcycles leathers. It is not the best leather available, but with a medium price range, and thicknesses of 1 to 1.2mm, top grain leather is considered to be a strong and durable riding grade material.

Naked Leather

Also known as full-grain leather, this tanning process uses only the finest of hand picked hides. Full grain leather has only the hair removed and is not sanded to remove imperfections, thus the epidermis remains in tact. Naked (without embellishment) leather has nothing other than the dye added. Full grain naked leather requires no breaking in period and is soft to the touch from the very beginning. Hides are typically 1.3+mm thick, and must be hand picked for uniformity. The natural full-grain naked leather will wear better than other leather, and will actually improve over the years. This type of leather is the ultimate riding grade; the most sought after, and consequently, the most expensive.

How to Tell the Difference

Finished split will be thin. Most riding grade leather is at least 1mm thick. Top grain leather is the top of the skin and has small bumps all over where the hair follicles used to be. Top grain garments are somewhat stiff when new, and require a breaking in period. On the other hand, naked leather, or full grain leather is very smooth and does not exhibit the small bumps that are present in top grain. Nor is the garment stiff when new. Naked leather is soft to the touch from the beginning and requires no breaking in period.

Pigskin or pig napa mostly resembles naked leather, in that it is a soft and supple hide, and can also be very thick. Not to say that it happens often, but beware of unscrupulous retailers that try to pass pigskin for full grain cowhide. If its cheap, its probably pigskin. Lamb skin is also very soft and pliable, though not as thick as pigskin. Lambskin also has a smooth surface.

Things to keep in mind are that most leather garments are manufactured overseas in India, Pakistan, and China. The made in America garments are going to be the most expensive on the market, and the quality of the hide and the workmanship is not going to be that much better. Many China Motorcycles leathers are designed in America and made in Pakistan. As mentioned previously, Pakistan is world renown for its leather expertise, and you should be able to trust their labeling. Pakistan exports both buffalo hide and cowhide garments. Leather garments manufactured in China are usually made from pigskin. This is not to say that its always the case, but you should be able to tell by price.

Remember, if you ride, dont skimp on the China Motorcycles leathers, they could someday save your hide!

Agajanian was one of the motorycle racing's foremost promoters

J.C. "Aggie" Agajanian will be remembered as one of the most influential figures in American motorsports history. Agajanian is best known for having cars entered in the Indianapolis 500 from just after World War II through the early 1970s. His entries won the historic race twice.

In motorcycle racing , Agajanian was one of the sport's foremost promoters. He promoted national motorcycle(china motorcycle ) races across the country (including the Daytona 200 in the early 1960s), but is most closely associated with the races held at Ascot Park in Gardena, California. Ascot Park was the birthplace of countless racing champions. Always a colorful character, Agajanian was rarely seen without his trademark Stetson cowboy hat and his "Pepsodent smile."

Agajanian was born in San Pedro, California, on June 16, 1913, just six months after his father had smuggled his entire family, including some cousins, out of war-torn Armenia. He grew up a hard-working young man in the family’s refuse collection and hog ranching businesses, which Aggie would later oversee.

At 18, Agajanian had saved enough money to buy a race car. When he told his father that he was going to become a race car driver, the elder Agajanian’s reaction was not what young Aggie had hoped. Looking at the car in the garage, his father said to J.C., "So you are going to be a race driver, that’s fine. Just a few things I want you to do first. Go kiss your mother goodbye, pack your bags since you won’t be living here anymore and while you’re at it, change your name."

The racing game was brutal in the 1930s. Drivers were dying almost every other week on the dirt ovals of Southern California and Agajanian’s father understandably didn’t want his son to become another statistic. A compromise was settled upon. J.C. could keep the car, but only in the capacity of an owner. J.C. agreed and at 18 became perhaps one of the youngest car owners in automobile racing.

While Agajanian never achieved his childhood dream of becoming a race driver, he did almost everything else, from promoting races to building cars and discovering drivers.

While promoting a race under the blazing desert sun in Arizona, Agajanian purchased a cowboy hat to protect his head. The hat became Aggie's trademark and he was rarely seen without it.

"I didn’t even know my dad was bald until I was a teenager," joked his son, Cary. "He even wore the hat sitting down for breakfast in the morning. My mother was always getting on him about that."

From 1948 through 1971, his cars won the pole position for the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race three times, set four track records and won the race twice. Troy Ruttman (1952) and Parnelli Jones (1963) both won the 500 in Agajanian machines.

Besides being a car owner and promoter, Agajanian was also instrumental in the development of the air jack for faster tire changes at Indy and in the 1930s was president of the Western Racing Association. As a race organizer, his expertise spanned the country and he became the first race organizer to present 250 United States Auto Club events, ranging from Midget races, such as the traditional Turkey Night Grand Prix at his beloved Ascot Park in Gardena, California, to numerous Championship Car races at state fairgrounds tracks.

Agajanian began promoting motorcycle(china motorcycles ) races as early as 1939. From the 1940s to the 1980s, Agajanian promoted motorcycling events at tracks such as Carrell Speedway, Western Speedway and Ascot Park. Many of the country’s top motorcycle racers , such as Sammy Tanner, Neil Keen, Al Gunter, Don Hawley and others, emerged from the weekly events put on by Agajanian at the half-mile circuit. The Friday night Ascot Park races were regular sell-outs from the late 1950s through the mid-1960s and riders from all across the country came to prove their abilities at the famed circuit. In the early 1980s Honda even named a motorcycle after Ascot.

In 1960, when the Daytona 200 was in jeopardy (Bill France was busy at work on building Daytona International Speedway) it was Agajanian who stepped in and saved the famous race on the beach.

As a promoter, J. C. Agajanian was known for his fair dealings and lucrative purses. His generosity was evident when he helped drivers or other people involved in racing who were down on their luck. The racers liked him very much and sensed that he had a genuine affection and respect for them as human beings.

In addition to being one of the country’s most successful promoters and team owners, Agajanian was a devoted family man and the father of four children, a girl and three boys.

Agajanian died on May 5, 1984. He left a legacy as one of the best promoters in the history of motor sports. His children carry on that legacy by continuing the family’s racing business.

Kinds of military boots

Tanker boots are military boots closely associated with soldiers who serve on tanks and tracked vehicles in general. It is said the idea was borrowed from the French crewmen encountered during World War I when then-Captain George S. Patton, Jr. established the United States Tank Corps. Whereas regular combat boots are laced through metal eyelets in the leather upper, the tanker boots are fastened with leather straps which wrap around the upper and buckle near the top.

Operation Boot Camp (OBC) is a Fitness boot camp founded in 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It is based on a fitness and health concept that was first conceived at Atlanta Kick, a martial arts academy in Atlanta. In 2008, Operation Boot Camp became the largest boot camp programs of its kind in the United States. The OBC program is currently offered in Alabama, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The organization teaches participants how to achieve a healthy lifestyle through a structured fitness program, personal motivation and a food plan. The thirty-day program demands personal accountability and although it eliminates the most unpleasant aspects of recruit training and
military boots camp, it is nonetheless a rigorous undertaking. Like its military namesake Operation Boot Camp seeks to build confidence, strength and physical stamina. Participants are challenged to push the boundaries of their endurance in order to reach their fitness and health goals. The program is simple and intense and strives to teach and build new habits and to provide its boot camp participants with some fun along the way. Operation Boot Camp recruits come from all over the world to be poked, pushed and challenged. The staff monitors attendance and progress and provides constant feedback. On days when the OBC members do not meet or workout with the staff they are given a list of numerous options for activities, classes and ideas to keep them active and engaged.

How to make the motorcycles seats

The underlying problems are solved according to the present invention in that the closure device is constructed as control valve having a vent channel for the gas pressure space and a slide valve member displaceable by the deceleration of the china motorcycles and in pressure-connection with the gas pressure space, which, in its normal position, closes off the feed line from the pressure reservoir to the gas pressure space and opens up the venting of the gas pressure space.

In the motorcycle according to the present invention, always exactly so much pressure is produced in the gas pressure space during the braking as is necessary in order to prevent a forward nose-diving of the motorcycle. Responsible therefor is essentially the closure slide valve member. It opens and closes during the braking operation in alternate sequence the vent channel of the gas pressure space. It is caused to operate in this manner by the opposite forces which act on the same. This involves, on the one hand, the force which is produced by the pressure of the gas pressure space and the effective area of the closure slide valve member, and on the other, the oppositely directed force from the mass of the closure slide valve member and its acceleration. With these forces, an equilibrium will always establish itself whereby the absolute amount of the forces follows the deceleration of the jincheng motorcycles and therewith the brake force.

New motorcycle seats can be costly and hard to find. However, with the right tools and process, making your own is possible. The majority of your cost will consist of a replacement seat mount. Cover material and foam can be purchased for next to nothing.Acquire a replacement seat mount for the motorcycle that you are making the seat for. Make sure that it fits correctly and remove any foam or leftover staples if it is a reused seat mount.Take a large piece of paper and trace the outline of the seat mount. Trace this outline onto a block of seat foam. Trace darkly so that you can easily see the outline for cutting.

Now, using the old china motorcycles seat as a reference, mold the curves of the seat using the band or jigsaw. Keep in mind that you don't have to make the seat exactly like the old one. You can form it to whatever you would like. Take into account things like room for a passenger and comfortable curves.Decide on what material you would like to use for the seat cover. Make sure to think about slippage and style along with everything else included in your consideration. For example, leather covers work well for classic-style street bikes, while plastic- and rubber-style seat covers work well for off-road china motorcycles supplier.Starting at the top of the seat mount, pull the material over the assembly and begin stapling it to the bottom of the mount. At all times keep the material as tight as possible. Stretch the material so that it fits over the assembly without any folds or creases. Apply staples every two to three inches.

How to Change Motorcycle Brakes

A motorcycle in which the forward nose-diving during braking is to be prevented. For that purpose, the motorcycle includes a spring-damping system which acts upon a pressure gas space; the pressure gas space is supplied during the braking operation with compressed gas from a pressure reservoir, by way of a control valve. The pressure which builds up in the gas pressure space thereby acts opposite the nose-diving of the china motorcycles.

The time frame that you need to change your motorcycle's brake pads varies depending on how often you ride and how hard you operate the brakes. If it feels like you need to work the brake handles harder, you should inspect the brake pads and replace them if they are worn down. The brake pads are contained within the calipers on the front wheel, much like on cars.Prop up the Police motorcycles and support it on its center stand. If you have a work stand for a motorcycle, this will work, too. Keep the fork free so you can easily turn the front wheel.

During the braking, a motorcycle nose-dives forwardly, conditioned by the dynamic axle load change, if the front wheel is arranged at the motorcycle frame by way of a spring-damping system. A motorcycle is disclosed in the DE-OS 32 02 740, in which this is to be prevented. During the braking operation, a customary directional control valve connects in that case the gas pressure space of the spring-damping system with a pressure reservoir. The pressure building up in the gas pressure space acts opposite the nose-diving of the motorcycle. The disadvantage of this solution resides in that the entire pressure of the pressure reservoir exists always in the gas pressure space, independently of the brake force and therewith of the deceleration of the motorcycle. As a result thereof, with a light braking, exactly the opposite may occur; namely, an erecting or raising of the china motorcycles manufacturer.

Disconnect the bolts for the caliper with a wrench and remove the caliper by sliding them off the fork if you can. Some bikes have fixed calipers that you can't remove.

Compress the caliper pistons by pressing them from the inside with a flat screwdriver or piece of wood--keeping the old brake pads in the caliper as you do this will give you more leverage. Check the brake fluid level within the master cylinder as you compress the pistons to make sure the fluid doesn't overflow.

Remove all retaining pins and dust shields for the brake pads with a flat blade screwdriver or allen wrench. If there are retaining clips, use needle-nose pliers to remove them by grasping them at the loop end. The pads and their bracket should fall out once all the retainers are removed; on fixed calipers, shake them until the old brake pads fall out.

Iran’s Natanz Tough Nut to Crack

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is in town this week to discuss with White House and Pentagon officials what to do about Iran?s nuclear program. Accompanying Barak is Israeli Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz; he?s the former IDF chief who set off a firestorm recently when he said an Israeli military strike(military uniform ) against Iran is ?unavoidable.? Current IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi was here last week and met with his Pentagon counterpart, Admiral Michael Mullen. Ashkenazi reportedly said he favors a diplomatic solution, but also issued the standard declaration that ?all options must be prepared? for stopping Iran?s nuclear program.

There has been considerable debate about whether Israel could even carry out an effective air strike against Iran?s nuclear program. Analysts say there are too many factories, labs and reactor sites dispersed too widely across the country. According to a 2006 paper published by two MIT doctoral candidates (one of the most thorough pieces of analysis available), it would be impossible for Israel to knock out the entire Iranian nuclear program but the target set could be narrowed to the most critical facilities. They identify the critical nodes as: the Esfahan uranium conversion facility, the gas centrifuges at the Natanz enrichment facility and the heavy water plant and future plutonium production reactors at Arak.

The MIT analysts identify Natanz as the most difficult target because much of the facility is buried deep and covered with layers of concrete. Israeli bombs would have to penetrate the earth covering, bore through the concrete layers and then dump enough bombs into the hole to generate blast pressures that could damage or destroy the equipment inside. They figure the strike package would have to drop a combination of roughly 24 BLU-109 2,000 lb. and BLU-113 5,000 lb. bunker busters on Natanz. The
military boots  facilities at Esfahan are not buried and those at Arak are not hardened, so those targets sets would be relatively simple to destroy with no more than 24 2,000 pound GPS guided bombs.

What does Israel have as far as deep strike weapons? The MIT folks count at least 25 F-15I (the Israeli version of the F-15E Strike Eagle) and 20-50 F-16I, both airframes configured specifically for deep strike missions. Israel also has a large number of F-16s that could be fitted as strike aircraft, Wild Weasel jamming aircraft and over 40 F-15A and C versions to escort the bombers. Developments in precision targeting, specifically GPS guided bombs, means all Israeli aircraft carry bombs considerably more accurate than those used in the Osirak raid. They envision a 50 plane strike package evenly split between F-15I and F-16I aircraft.

Then the question becomes how well can Iran defend its airspace. Iranian aircraft are a mix of the old and the very old. Iran?s most modern fighter is the Mig-29, of which they have maybe 40. They also have a large number of 1970s era F-4, F-14, F-5 and some newer Chinese built F-7M and F-6. Iranian fighters would be operating over friendly territory, advantageous when they need
Tactical boots to refuel or rearm. They could also draw on ground control radar to guide them into favorable attack positions against IDF aircraft roaming Iranian air space. If the Iranian aircraft could get into firing position against Israeli bombers, which is admittedly a big if, they have sufficiently modern air-to-air missiles that they could probably down a few.

It?s not Iran?s fighter jets that could pose the real challenge, as the Iranian air force is more of an ?antique show,? says David Ochmanek, an analyst with RAND who directs an ongoing study for the U.S. Air Force that examines future threats from Iran. The real threat to an attacker, he says, are Iranian surface-to-air missiles. There are reports that the Iranians field some of the newer Russian-built double digit SAMs, such as the SA-10, though not the newer and more potent SA-20 (the newer Russian designation is S-300 and S-400). The S-300 is considered by some accounts to be comparable to the U.S.-built
Tactical shoes Patriot air defense missile.]]>Ochmanek says the double digit SAMs are far more capable than the earlier SA-2, SA-3 and SA-6. The newer systems have high powered radars that are difficult to jam and more powerful, faster missiles. Barry Watts, an analyst at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, a Washington thinktank, and a Vietnam-era fighter pilot, says if pilots could spot the smoke trails of the earlier generation of SAMs they could outmaneuver them because of the G-force limitations of those older missiles. With the latest generation SAMs outmaneuvering doesn?t work. ?Those missiles went from ten G missiles, to about thirty or forty G?s,? which means the missile?s turn rates are vastly improved, he said. Coupled with the new powerful radars, ?if the missile is locked up on you and it?s guiding, the only thing you can do is pull the ejection handles and get out of the airplane.?

Iran has also reportedly bought the fairly sophisticated Tor-M1 SA-15 Gauntlet, a short-range mobile SAM system. The Tor M-1?s greatest strength is its mobility, which, because of Iran?s sizeable and mountainous terrain, could make for a very difficult target because it can pop-up almost anywhere. Iran lacks the resources to protect all of its air space, so it relies on ?point defense,? deploying its
military clothing guns and missiles around strategically important sites, Ochmanek says.

The MIT folks figured that to carry out an effective strike, twelve F-15Is would have to arrive over Natanz, six F-16I over Esfahan and five F-16I over Arak. Their analysis said that a 50 plane strike package would provide the Israelis significant attrition cushion. The paper?s authors note that to cause the operation to fail, Iranian air defenses would have to down close to 40% of the attacking Israeli jets, an attrition rate that would exceed even the disastrous U.S. raid on Ploesti in Word War II. The MIT analysts conclude that largely because of advances in precision weaponry, ?Israeli leaders have access to the technical capability to carry out the attack,? and that it would be no more risky than that of the 1981 raid on Osirak.

If a couple of students from MIT came up with that conclusion, the Israeli intelligence and military communities probably have a fairly high degree of confidence in the success of air strikes. The Israelis likely believe they can set back any progress the Iranians have made in nuclear enrichment by at least five years. What that would buy Israel and the rest of the world in terms of changing Tehran?s policies is anybody?s guess.

Give Peace a Chance — N’T

Our boy Bill Roggio at the Long War Journal has a breaking piece on a new alliance between insurgent groups and al Qaeda in Pakistan.

This occurs of course as the US begins it’s mini-”surge” of forces into Afghanistan (which I guarantee you won’t last more than a year) and the recent “treaty” between Pak government at the militants allowing some areas to be governed by Sharia law (yeah, that’ll work).

So in the spirit of friendship, the Pak militants say “all hail al Qaeda”…Let’s just give diplomacy a chance. Mr. Holbrook, you want some more frequent flier miles?

The three senior most Taliban leaders in North and South Waziristan joined forces to wage jihad against Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the US at the behest of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar. The new Taliban alliance said it openly supports
military boots manufacturer Omar and bin Laden in its war against the US, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
North Waziristan Taliban leader Hafiz Gul Bahadar and South Waziristan leaders Mullah Nazir and Baitullah Mehsud put aside differences last week and created the Council of United Mujahideen. Nazir and Bahadar had feuded with Baitullah due to tribal disputes as well as Baitullah’s rising power at the senior leader of the Pakistani Taliban.

The three leaders had pamphlets distributed throughout North and South Waziristan to announce the formation of the Council of United Mujahideen. The Taliban leader “united according to the wishes of Mujahideen leaders like Mullah Muhammad Omar and Sheikh Osama bin Laden,” The Nation reported.

The Taliban alliance “supported Mullah Muhammad Omar and Osama bin Laden’s struggle” against US President Barack Obama, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, and Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s administrations.

The new alliance said it was military jacket waging war “in an organized manner’” to “stop the infidels from carrying out acts of barbarism against innocent people” just as Omar and bin Laden were waging war against Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the US.

The creation of the Council of United Mujahideen and their open support of al Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban finally put to rest the Pakistani government’s claim that Bahadar and Nazir are “pro-government” Taliban. While Bahadar and Nazir opposed fighting the government for tactical reason they had openly supported al Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban.

The establishment of the alliance also helps to consolidate the expanding network of Taliban, al Qaeda and Central Asian terror groups operating on both sides of the Afghan-Pakistani border. Analysts have claimed the Pakistani Taliban were a localized phenomena de-linked from the global jihad, despite Nazir’s open support for al Qaeda and the Taliban, the interconnections between the North Waziristan-based Haqqani Network and al Qaeda, and the establishment of Taliban-run suicide camps whose attendees conduct attacks in Pakistan, Afghanistan and the West. The Lashkar al Zil, or the Shadow Army, al Qaeda’s joint paramilitary force that includes some Taliban forces, operates on both sides of the border.

The Pakistani government ceded North and South Waziristan to the Taliban after a series of peace agreements that began in 2004. The government attempted to restore its writ in 2007 and in early 2008 after the Taliban openly violated the agreements, but the
military boots was defeated and agreed not to conduct operations in the region. Al Qaeda and a host of jihadi terror groups maintain training camps and safe houses in Waziristan.

Device for securing ribbons to military uniform

A securing device to be located on the inside of a uniform garment will accurately align and anchor military-type ribbon holders, nametags and warfare insignias. The securing device contains claps encased within a thin, soft, pliable plastic foam material sized slightly larger than the secured military-type ribbon holders, nametags and warfare insignias, yielding a flush appearance against the wearer's body. Repeated insertion to and retraction from my device can occur without concern for lost clasps or skin penetration.

placement of said clasps within said plastic foam material will exactly align to receive said metal pins from the inside of a
military uniform where in said device is adapted to evenly distributing said military ribbons, nametag, military display against garment of said military uniforms for eliminating or preventing exposure of the sharp end of said metal pins and keep said pins away from the individual wearer; said securing device is adapted to secure a multiple of rows of clasps for receiving the pins of a multiple rows of ribbons and or insignia devices.

Awards and citations are presented to Military/Police personnel in the form of colorful medals and ribbons. Once awarded, those personnel are authorized to display the medals and ribbons on their uniform shirt or jacket. Government regulations dictate specific standards for wearing those awards, ensuring a standard, uniform display. In order to maintain the proper alignment on a uniform, ribbon holders have been created that can hold any number of ribbons. The holder secures the ribbons on to the outside of the shirt/jacket material by the use of metal pins, which penetrate the material. The holder is secured on the inside of the material with small metal clasps. During a career, individuals may accrue any number of ribbons, medals and insignias. Ribbon holders are available in many sizes to accommodate receipt of new awards. My invention is made to match any size of the ribbon device options. It will ensure proper alignment of the ribbon display and alleviate unsightly gaps between the ribbon holder and the uniform.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS

My figures have been re-drawn to provide clarification to previous drawings:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the securing device of the present invention fastened to
 military boots holder;

FIG. 2 is a sectional view of the securing device;

FIG. 3 is a group perspective of a military ribbon device worn with the securing device against the body of an individual;

FIG. 4 is a group perspective of a military ribbon device worn against the body of an individual without the securing device.

FIG. 5 is a group front and top perspective view of a military ribbon holder against the securing device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring now specifically to the drawings, the numeral 3 generally designates the device of the present invention which is mounted on the inside of an article of outer wear 2 such as a uniform shirt but which may be mounted on the inside of any outer uniform garment.

FIG. 1 contains an illustrated side view of
military boots holder 1. This type of military ribbon holder 1 is a known type in that it is the type illustrated and described in patent U.S. Pat. No. 3,942,273 to T. D. Adams, issued Mar. 09, 1976. A thin uniform material 2 is shown between the ribbon holder 1 and my securing device 3.

The pin 4 of the military ribbon holder 1 protrudes into the clasp device 6, via openings 8 through the uniform material 2.

In the front surface of the securing device 3 there exist depressions or openings 8 for receiving heads of pointed fasteners or pins similar to thumb tacks 4, received by an anchor or clasp device generally designated by 6 which includes a pair of squeeze tabs 7 which are resilient in nature and which when squeezed together will form an opening for receiving pointed fastener 4 and which when released will frictionally grip same. This type of fastener is a known type in that it is the type illustrated and described in patent U.S. Pat. No. 2,551,196 to F. A. Ballou, Jr., issued May 01, 1951.

These fasteners 6 are permanently imbedded into my securing device 3, enabling for a single integrated, protective, supporting and professional device that can be put in place or removed without fear clasp 6 dislodging and/or exposing the pointed pin 4 to individual body and/or skin 9. The securing device is sized slightly larger (approximately 3-5 millimeters) than the area of the secured
Tactical boots , nametags and warfare insignias, yielding a flush appearance against the wearer's body. FIG. 3 depicts the advantage of my device as it prevents the unsightly, unprofessional appearance of the uniform shirt as shown in FIG. 4. Current inventions do not ensure an even distribution of the military ribbon holder 1 displaying its ribbons against an individual's body/skin 9. FIG. 5 depicts a front and top view of my securing device 3 sized slightly larger (3-5 mm) than a military ribbon holder 1.

My application provides a device that contains a distinct, unique advantage to previous prior-art designs. My device provides firm functional improvement over previous claims by incorporating clasping devices into a non-specific soft, thin pliable plastic rubber foam material, at precise locations that match exactly pins allowing for multiple applications of insertion and removal.

It is this combination of inseparable supporting material and anchoring clasps, for the purpose of properly aligning the decorative devices and at the same time eliminating the device's projection away from the individual wearer, that makes this patent application unique.

Murphy's and Adam's patents are described in my application to illustrate the type of
Tactical shoes would connect to. Further, Murphy depicts a plastic nut that secures the metal shaft protruding from the ribbon holder device. A fastening device of the like does not stay secured upon routine wear and leaves a gap between the individual's body (skin or shirt) resulting in an unsightly projection of the uniform area displaying insignia or the like devices. My device eliminates that gap with a thin, soft pliable plastic foam material providing integrated fastening devices that can be reused without concern for dislodgment, or concern for injury to skin or material.

Although both Parentis and Rapata disclose fastening device assemblies for securing insignia, identification, ornamental, nameplate and the like to service uniforms comprising of a plate member having a plurality of built-in clasps, however; Parentis discloses three separate and separable parts: head, background and base. My application constitutes an inseparable integration of two parts, comprising one functional device containing clasps within soft, thin, pliable foam rubber material. Daily application of one vice several parts adds to the unique advantage of my invention.

Rapata discloses devices that are permanently fixed once applied. Additionally, the securing pins described are exposed through the assembled material. The intent of my device is to ensure readily removable application and prevent shank/pin/shaft exposure.

I recognized the need for this invention while in the process of placing my own
military clothing and warfare insignia devices on my uniform shirt. And, in discussions with fellow officers, I came to the conclusion that my problem with the procedure was universal. Presently, the small clasps designed to secure the devices to the uniform frequently dislodge, during normal wear (exposing sharp metal points, which can scratch or penetrate the skin). This also produces a sloppy, non- military, air-gap between the ribbons and other warfare insignia. In order to try to alleviate these problems, I would create, from a thin piece of cardboard, a "support device" that I placed on the inside of my uniform shirt. This was cut to size 1 mm beyond the boundary of the ribbon holder, thus eliminating the unsightly air-gaps and assisting in protecting my chest from sharp pins.

Additionally, the cardboard "support device" ensured proper alignment of my assigned medals and insignia (which is currently accomplished through visual estimations). As I earned additional awards, I would create a new and larger sized ribbon device to support the larger display pattern. Thinking of a better way, I envisioned a flexible, uniform, properly sized supporting device that would remain secure through clasps enclosed within the device's pliable plastic foam material. My invention can be pre-formed or adjusted to fit the standardized ribbon, nametag and insignia devices (or device set) authorized by the US
military jacket . My invention is comprised of a pliable, approximately 2-3 mm thick plastic foam material that incorporates the required number of clasps enclosed within the material. This is a new item as it provides a convenient, professional and uniform product that replaces non- uniform makeshift supporting devices, while at the same time promoting safety by preventing exposure of the sharp metal pins.
